Our bodies are like clothes that we wear for various occasions.
Whatever the soul needs to experience and express determines the
body that is fashioned for its life. Just as certain attires are not
appropriate for a particular affair, a body that may be great for one
lesson or adventure may not be effective for another. Just as our
clothes get worn out, get tattered, and need mending, the same
happens to our clothing of the soul. So we must be careful how we
care for it. Just as we may really like one outfit but realize we
have to change clothes the next day. The same is true of this body,
for each life is but a day of the soul.

From the book 30 Day’s of Metaphysics and Miracles in Your life by Craig Kimbrough

As I share this month’s page, life seems much grander. Besides the fact that I need to take  care of my body at least well as I do my clothes (I really like clothes), I am also reminded that I am more than just this body and that “we are not just humans having occasional spiritual experiences, but rather spirits and souls having occasional human experiences.”

When I think of this, I find myself wanting to meditate more to move into more dreamlike experiences and visions of the soul.  I also think of my dreams at night and how wonderful they are.  And how they take place in other realms with me functioning in a different body, while I lay there in the bed, gaining all kinds of experiences and lessons.

Note:  Every month I will share a page from my book Thirty Days of Metaphysics and Miracles.  The idea is to read the page and incorporate it in your world by making it your message, seeing how it applies to what is currently going on in your life, and then living accordingly. Many who have tried doing this have reported astonishing results. People who have the book, randomly choose a page daily. For those who choose to participate, this is the page and main message for this month.

Peace and Blessings

Today’s Positive Thought (Is the Universe Trying To Get My Attention?)

Sun and clouds

Today’s Positive thought comes from my third book Walk This Earth Like a King.

Are you currently going through a challenging situation?  Do you sometimes have an empty feeling like something is missing?    Or maybe you have something going on that is agitating you and you feel like this unsettling feeling keeps showing up over and over again?  If so believe it or not this can be a positive thing, if you can recognize what is happening.

Our whole life, everything we experience, is the outcome of our past actions and the way we see and interpret the world.  Understanding this, we have to remember that when something bad happens, it has only happened to get our attention.  It’s occurring in order for us to finally let go of our old ways of doing things and seeing situations.  Most of us make very little changes as long as we remain comfortable.  The problem is the more beautiful places waiting on us call for us to grow and change before we get there.  So the universe finds ways to shake us up and help us get to where we would ultimately love to be.  But we must embrace the lesson in order to get there.

So when we find ourselves agitated we must ask the question. What wonderful thing is this trying to move me to?  What do I have to learn in order to get there? Then we must be thankful for God and the universe getting our attention.  If you can go through your day with this in mind, what follows will surprise you.

Today’s Positive Thought (Take Your Time But Make Haste)

Right now I have a lot of things I would like to see done or more complete.    I had been thinking in a mode that my teacher Mr. Ambrister used to share with me.  He used to say “make haste while the sun is still shinning.”  Well that is what I have been trying to do.   The problem is I want to do big things, I lot of big things, in a relatively short time.  Then this morning I opened up Wise Words, the second book I wrote years ago, looking for my message for today.  The page I opened up to randomly was page 48.  This is what it read.

W

ork on what you’re planning, but don’t get stressed out about it.  Do a little bit each day towards whatever you are working on.  The real making haste is the meditation.  When we meditate, when we get centered and contact our higher self, we get all sorts of ideas and information that would normally pass over us.  Also, we’re able to see the situation more completely within, enabling us to have more faith when we only see part of the picture outside.  At the same time we’re less attached to the outcome.  This allows us to attract the desired situation in our lives much quicker without us worrying about it not arriving or being controlled by it when does arrive.  Instead of repelling the situation with doubts and attachments, we attract the situation with more faith and non attachment by going within.

On the spiritual path, this making haste is most important, because it gets us more grounded in the spiritual regions, furthering our growth while dematerializing us. (It makes us more identified with our soul.)

Wise Words

When we let go and become an instrument

Early this week I was marveling at an epiphany I had.  It was not the first time this idea came to mind but it was quite deep to me all the same.  I found myself thinking about how much time and energy we spend building our ego and proving ourselves.  I call it building up our false self, because realizing our true self would be something all together different.

When we are building the false self we are trying to get the world to see how great we are or how worthy we are.   This is the part where many of us will say “yea, I know people who seem to spend their whole lives doing this.  That’s what Bob does, always trying to prove.” But wait, forget about Bob.  This is what we do.  You and me.  Even those of us who are working on ourselves.  We spend most of our time trying to prove ourselves.  We have to make sure everyone knows how much we can get, how much we can achieve, how smart we are, how we are special, kind or different, edgy, self realized, God realized, you name it.  We spend most of our energy doing this, proving. Some of us don’t want to be great, just not lesser than.  We just want to be worthy and have people understand that we mean well.  Others of us are so cool we don’t care what anyone thinks.  This is also a way to let the world know just how realized and unattached we are.  And our attention is still on how we are perceived all the same.  But what happens when we let go of this false self that we have spent so much energy building up and defending.

The answer is we become free.  We become free for however long we are able to let go.  We don’t worry about what people will think and our dealings become much more pure.  We also become one, instruments of God and the Universe.  As a matter of fact, in addition to meditating often, it is a good idea to remind ourselves that we are not who we and others have thought us to be.  We are simply here to be of service in whatever way the Universe sees fit.  We can also think of God working through us as we perform our various activities. We can say “I am just doing what God wants me to do, serving the way that is best for the Universe and all involved.”  We can mean well, do our best and not be attached to how the situation works out.  We can feel good because if we are judged we know that is not us that is being judged we are just instruments following the plan as we best understand.  We are even open to changes in the plan if we are made aware there needs to be.  If we move forward in this way, we will find less of our ego involved and feel much more free and happy as we carry out our missions, and live our lives.
