There is a time for everything. And in life I find it is a good policy to be as kind and agreeable as possible as often as I possibly can. It is good karma and good for all involved.
Having said that, we will also find that sometimes people may not appreciate what we are trying to do, or where we are coming from, and it comes out in their actions. We may have tried to get along and done all we could to make the situation work. We may have tried talking to them in subtle ways or even more direct. Sometimes we can even tell that they know how hard we are trying, but they still want to make things unnecessarily difficult.
If this is the case, it is no time to be upset. This is a time to be true, and get our lesson. And just what may be our spiritual lesson at hand? We may find that it is time to take our time and lay it on the line. In other words, we have to let the other party know just how we feel, and what we are prepared to do.
First we must let go of all fear and worry of possible outcomes, and let them know in no uncertain terms, “if you continue to go in this direction, this is what I am prepared to do. If you choose to go in the other direction, then this is what I will do.” We must lay it all out clearly, and be ready to act, no matter how uncomfortable we previously thought it would make us. We must treat this like it is our mission from God. As a matter of fact, when such a time arises, that is exactly what it is. It is a matter of now being true to ourselves and to our lesson, and letting the chips fall where they may. If we are sincere in our efforts, we will be backed by the entire Universe.
Question: I am starting to realize that our dreams tell us a lot and can guide us. My problem is that
lately I don’t remember my dreams as much. Do you have any suggestions?
Craig: That is a trip. I was planning on that being the subject of my next post. I will take this as a sign to post this question and answer right away. This question used to come up quite a bit when I was teaching meditation classes at Wayne County Community College.
My suggestion is first to keep a note pad next to your bed. When you wake up in the morning, don’t let your feet hit the floor. Try to remember your dream first. Write down anything you remember, even if it is only a portion of the dream. If you don’t remember any of the dream at all, then write down how you felt either in the dream or when you first woke up. This must all happen as soon as you wake up. Do this daily. When students would try this, to their surprise they would remember their dreams and come back the next week talking about their dreams.
Questioner: That makes perfect sense.
Craig: Yea, the idea is to not start your day until you pay attention to your dream. That’s why I say don’t let your feet hit the floor until you take the steps I described. Once you get up and start thinking about what you have to do and get into the grove of this waking dream (your daily life) it is too easy to forget about what you experienced while your were asleep.
Question: I had a dream in which I found myself walking outside of my friend’s house and getting shot. I didn’t just get shot. I got shot a whole bunch of times. What do you think this means?
Craig: Are you still hanging out with that rough crowd here and there?
Questioner: Yea actually I was with them at the time and whenever I have dreams like this, I am always with them.
Craig’s answer: You are being shown a future possibility. The future is not carved out in stone, it often depends on if we go in this direction or that direction as to which future time space event you will find yourself in during this waking experience. You were being shown what will happen if you continue to hang out with that group.
Since you have been meditating you have been being spiritually cleaned up. Your higher self and God within, is working on you, trying to get you to take heed and move in a different direction. You have come a long way already, but now it is time to make the tough choices and move further. Your life depends on it. Do not take this lightly. When your higher self speaks and gives such information in dream, pay attention.
Remember this is only a future possibility, if you shy away from this group, you will not have this experience. You will move into an entirely different future with much more pleasant outcomes.

“What we behold as money, food and clothing automobile and homes represents our concepts of these ideas.”

I say that we create these dreams at night and populate them with people and create the entire situation within the dream to give ourselves messages and lessons. We also do the same thing with this waking dream we find ourselves in. Whether we realize it or not, we create it with all its nuances situations and scenery, to give ourselves messages and lessons along the way. The more we lean in and get our lessons associated with these dreams and situations, the more beautiful our dreams and lives become.
In the book holy science Sri Yukteswar says to seek out true company and avoid false company. He says we should seek those who make us happy, calm and at peace and avoid those who make us nervous, angry and upset. I find myself blessed because I am surrounded by such people. Even with my business all of the guys who work for me are meditation students, so we talk about philosophy, spirituality, and laugh all throughout the day. Yesterday I decided to start satsang early and look at a couple blogs, I only had enough time to read two, but they were refreshing to read and helped elevate me.
The first wasMichelle Dobbins Daily Alchemy, where she was talking about celebrating. The post reminded me to celebrate, the good, and more good will come. The second blog I read wasCrystal Nudings. She was saying that all is well, which is a great spiritual reminder and is truly the case if you can embrace the idea and move forward in that spirit. It reminded me to move forward my the day with this in mind and know that things are working out in ways I can’t even see at the moment.
Later in the evening, after spending time with my family, I watched Ghost Dog, The way of the Samurai which is a wonderful movie that always tends to remind me to follow my spiritual teachings and apply them to every situation in life. regardless of the setting. First thing in the morning I find myself meditating, seeing my teacher Mr. Ambrister within. I am at peace and barely can even feel my body.
What are you doing today to be in the true company? Take a little time for it. Hang out with and seek positive company, in person, or by book, blog, audio, or video. It truly makes a difference.
