When my teacher first spoke about the inner music
it sounded like a wonderful myth
Something that is lovely and dreamlike
and yet very far off
When I first heard the magical sound
I thought I was dreaming
who hears a wonderful music
that no one else hears?
I sat there bewildered
Intrigued and excited
Wanting to know more
What is this sound that I hear?
So many questions
I called up my teacher
He said God is with you my son
You are now on your way

Lovely, I have heard that we each have our own soul note that we resonate with and I’ve heard some tones in my head when I meditate. I take it as a sign that I’m on the right path. 🙂
Hello Michelle, I am glad you like the poem. Your comment is very deep and quite true about the tones heard in meditation. I would like to add a little more.
When a person can concentrate enough to get their mind off the cares and worries of the world, there is an inner sound that presents itself. It is mentioned in many books by many names. Gabriel’s trumpets, The wind (that listeth where it bloweth), akash bani or the sound from the sky, and the music of the spheres, just to name a few. If you hear a humming or a ringing etc. This is a good thing. There are five main divine melodies that are part this Aum/OM vibration. So at different times it can sound different ways. Each tone corresponds with higher planes of consciousness or higher worlds. Once again if you hear the sound within it is a good thing. It can actually carry you away in meditation to see incredibly divine sights. But it is very important to only pay attention to the vibration that appears to come from the right side or right ear, and not the left. If you have any questions on this subject I will be happy to explain more. It is always good to hear from you and I am sure you know that I really enjoy your blog. Peace and Blessings
