Waking up to what is real

Last week I saw an episode on “Being Erica” ( on CBC network on Wednesdays) that really caught my attention. Even before I saw it, something inside told me that this particular episode had something in it I really wanted to see. That something inside was right. This show was so deep. For those of you who have never seen the show, Erica stumbled onto a therapist Dr. Tom who takes her back in time each week to work out her issues, literally by way of time travel. She can sometimes go on purpose and other times just show up all of a sudden to work out some issues. This week she finds herself waking up in the hospital and being told by Dr. Tom who tells her he is Dr. Wexler and that she has been in a coma for two weeks. Her family and friends tell her the same thing, that she passed out and instead of waking up to Dr. Tom and traveling through time like she thought she had been doing, she had really been imagining the whole thing while in the comma and is just waking up now. There is no Dr. Tom. There is no business that she created. There is no time travel therapy, or new boyfriend she met in therapy, just life as she knew it before passing out, and waking up to all of these dreamed of events.

Erica struggles to know what is real the reality, the one that she is in,or the one she is being told was just a dream, which by the way also sounds crazy if its not a dream. In the end she decides to hang on to who she has become and all her lessons she got from the magical life with Dr. Tom, whether it is real or a dream. She then finds out it was all a test to see if she was ready to help others the same way she was helped. Her magical life was real after all.

This all reminds me of my life. At the age of 21 or 22 I met my teacher Mr. Ambrister. Ever since and even just prior to this encounter, I have experienced what I consider to be incredible miracles. Some include time travel into the past, the future and possible futures. I know, I know, some of you are saying this guy is crazy. What if I told you that I had a dream about a situation that not happened in my life but it felt so real I could not believe it? What if I also told you that a month later I found myself in that same situation in real life and it was just like it was in my dream? Would it really be too far fetched to consider my dream as a way of time traveling into the future before it hapened. I have had things like this happpen many times and other incredible events like where I could hear what was happening on other sides of town while in meditation, or have things miraculously occur where the exact things I need show up out of nowhere. Some of these incredible experiences I talk about ( to the like-minded of course ) and others I don’t talk about at all. And yes sometimes I find myself during my most challenging experiences, when I need a miracle most and to believe the most, wondering can I really walk in the new way and hang onto all I have learned from my teacher, meditations and experiences, or go back to a normal life where these were all coincidences and imaginings. Just like Erica I have to hang onto my lessons and who I have become, and help others to do the same.

Sincerely,

Craig

Simran The Repetition

In the meditation science simran is a word that means repetition. The idea is to repeat a mantra over and over and eventually become attuned to the mantra and become one with that mantra. I tell people all the time that they are constantly meditating whether they know it or not. We can repeat the mantra of the world and experience all the effects of it or we can practice the simran repetition of the holy names and experience the effects of that meditation practice. Both are very powerful and have powerful effects. The mantra of the world is the repeating of all of our worldly concerns hopes and dreams. Even when we think we are taking the higher road and repeat our hopes and dreams, most often we become attached to the outcome and begin to worry about the possibility of them not turning out the way we would like. The results are stess, neck pain, headaches, and stuations being attracted that we do not enjoy.

The idea with what we call the meditation process and the simran or repetition of the holy names is to attach our minds to the higher vibration within that is all peace. This practice leads us to our true hopes and dreams without all the worry of them working or not working out the way we think we would like. I could go on and on but I will say this, I usually start people out with the mantra A U M. It is a very wonderful mantra that can be used at any time. For a free explanation or demonstration or reminder of its greatness listen to my audios The Highest Form Of Meditation and How To Meditate. They are both on this site in my free meditation section. The more we practice the simran the more beautiful our life becomes. Don’t take my word for it. Try it.

Question For Craig Kimbrough

Dear Craig

“I had a dream last night that really disturbed me. In the dream my fiance and I were married and she did not want to be intimate with me. She said that lately her mind was on Ronald and because of him she has no desire for me. I have no idea who this guy is, even in my dream I didn’t know him. All of a sudden I became very angry and threatening toward her. I did not hurt her, but I did act out. Then I found myself trying to manipulate and find ways to make her want me. I was very hurt and did not know if she had been intimate with him or only thinking about it. I was also ashamed about my threatening anger and my trying to manipulate her to be with me. I was also ashamed that I still wanted to be with her. Then I woke up. Do you think that the dream means that she is seeing some guy? Or do you think that this is a sign of things to come? Or do you think this is showing my insecurities?”

Is she cheating on you? Is this a sign of things to come? These two questions are unknowns and much less important than what the dream was really making known. The dream was clearly telling you that you are too attached and even if she had someone else you would still want her to be with you, even to the point of manipulation. The dream was letting you know how attached you are and how unattractive it is. Your being ashamed of your reaction told you this. Now don’t get me wrong. As my teacher Mr. Ambrister said “Even Jesus Hollared On The Cross” , but then he reflected and saw things from a mystical perspective. Then he was counseling the guy next to him, and above the situation. We all get upset for a moment, but the idea is to become above the situation. Become less attached to what happens in this relationship. Enjoy it without any fears of outcome. Know that you are so attractive that if she ever finds someone else and leaves you, she will be the one missing out. Do what you must to feel this way, get out with friends etc. and meditate often.

If you do what I suggest the possibility is much less likely you will experience what you did in your dream. You will be interesting to her, even though this is not the point. If you continue on with the feelings you have you will more than likely create the situation. Feel good don’t worry, know you are fascinating, and be fascinating, and know your good will come from her or somewhere else, but it will surely continue to come.

Sincerely

Craig

Question When looking for God’s mission for you, when you meditate, do you meditate on that, or do you meditate on the spirit within and just go with the flow of whatever comes your way?

This question comes from a good friend and meditation student of mine, Nate. I told him that I have done both when needing answers and direction. But I must say that even when you take the question inside at some point you should let go of the question and meditate on the mantra, sound and light within. If you can not meditate on the inner sound and light, then meditate on the mantra in the proper center. If anyone has questions on the method then go to my free meditation audio.

More… My teacher used to say to take your burdens to the Lord and leave them there. When you meditate or prior to meditation take the concerns and even questions on God’s mission for you to God and say this I leave with you. It is not my concern anymore. I will be open to whatever you bring my way, whether the answer or clues come from this meditation, a dream, or a situation in my outside world, I know my meditating and clearing my mind will take me there. Then from this point on meditate strictly for getting centered, attaining peace, being at one, or for the advanced contacting the Guru or contacting God. This will take you far and this will help you let go enough to contact your deeper self without all the concerns and worries that come along with finding your mission or how to carry it out. At the same time if you really practice and let go of needing things to be a certain way the answers and direction comes.

Being in your place and hearing the inner sound

There is an inner sound, a vibration that runs through us all. This vibration is talked about by saints and masters of all time. In the Bible John says “The wind listeth where it bloweth and though hearest the sound there of, but can not tell from whence it commeth or whence it bloweth, so it is of all those who are born of the spirit.” This is that same sound that the meditation masters call the AUM or OM vibration. This sound carries us deeper in meditation to the higher regions within ourselves.  This of course, is if we can get our minds off of the concerns of this world. We will hear this sound, which happens to be the same vibration that is God’s light within. Even when we are on the meditation path it can be a challenge to hear the inner sound. It must be awakened. If we follow the instructions from one who is familiar with it we are on our way. Another trick is that it also helps is to be in our place.

I’ll give you an example. One day my daughter Mylan came to me very happy and told me that she finally heard the inner sound. Most people who meditate expect to hear it the for the first time during the meditation process. I asked her what was she doing and where was she at the time. She said she was in the basement at her Grandparents house working on some art and all of a sudden there it was. By the way, Mylan has loved doing art work since a very young age. My first time hearing it was while reading a book by my param guru Dr. Thind. I was so into this book, it was like I became the book and lost myself in it. And all of a sudden there was this inner sound. And it was very loudly ringing. Quite often this is when it happens when we are doing what we love to do. I take it to be God’s way of telling you “this is where I want you to be. This is who you are. This is how I express through you.” Don’t get me wrong there is much more to it than that, but this is a part of it. And it is also a hint. Meditate, be who you are and do what you love to do.

Building on what we have

In the movie Under The Tuscan Sun Francis recomended to a student, who had writers block, to go back to his bad ideas and work on them. The advise proved to be good and he used it to turn an old idea into a successful book. Often when we are wondering what to do next it is a good idea to look at what he have done before and examine the good in it. Other times we may need to examine what we have thought about doing and examine the good in it. Sometimes it is good to simply examine our way of being and what we love and makes us tick. In other words we must build on what we have and who we are.

Too often we try to leave behind who we are as we move forward. In some ways this is a good thing if we are talking about our ego. That part of us that says “what will they think about me if I do this?” This often gets in the way and taints our good idea or self expresssion. So leaving the ego behind can be a good thing. But on the other hand it can be a mistake if we leave behind the part of us that is the way that the Universe wants to express itself through us. So what is that you love to do? Build on that. What is it that you are truly good at? Build on that. What is it you would like to see given to the world or certain people in the world? Build on that. Moving on this will lead to more life, more love, and peace of mind.

Although I know this works from experience, the truth is, as much as I am sharing this with you I am truly reminding myself. I have so many things I can build on as I move forward in this adventure, my life. I love my business. I love the meditation movement, I love my family life. I love writing books. I love giving talks. I love answering spiritual questions. No need to look for anything new. Build on that Craig. Whenever I am not feeling alive enough in some way I have probably forgotten who I am and what I love and stopped building on that in my life. I am betting the same is true with you.

Bridging The Gap Between Metaphysical Truths

Metaphysical Truth: From What If My Soul Is Eternal And Heaven Is
Everywhere? by Craig Kimbrough pages 45 and 46

One of my favorite actors is Nicholas Cage. That’s because no matter
what role he plays he plays it extremely well. Whether he’s playing
in Adaptation or if he’s playing in a movie like Face Off where he
acted so well, he can go from one character to another. With each one
he’s totally into the part. But, of course, after that he goes home,
and he’s ready for the next role. In our lives, we have to play our
role to its best. The less we are attached to various people and
situations, and the more hidden realities we discover within
ourselves, the more we are able to function and play our roles to the
fullest and actually even change our role. You can say, “Hey! I want
a new part.” Even in this life right now we can do that by simply
changing our way of thinking, and leaning into the lessons coming our
way. If we choose to learn our lessons through the experiences we
have, we start to see a totally different set of circumstances coming
our way.
~~~~~~
Metaphysical Truth: From Tao Te Ching by Lao Tsu, no. 30
Whenever you advise a ruler in the way of Tao, counsel him not to use
force to conquer the Universe. For this would only cause resistance.
Thorn bushes spring up wherever the army has passed. Lean years
follow in the wake of a great war. Just do what needs to be done.
Never take advantage of power.
Achieve results, but never glory in them. Achieve results, but never
boast. Achieve results, but never be proud. Achieve results, because
this is the natural way. Achieve results, but not through violence.
Force is followed by loss of strength. This is not the way of Tao.
That which goes against the Tao comes to an early end.
Bridging The Gap
As stated in What If My Soul Is Eternal and Heaven Is Everywhere, this
life is like a movie. It is our own personal movie, and we are right
in the middle of it at this moment. As we meditate more and become
less attached and less worried about the outcomes in life situations,
we find ourselves enjoying life much more and really getting into it
as it is. As we do this, look for our lessons in the situations that
arise, and continue to meditate deeply, we can even change our part.
In other words, we can move in a totally different direction and
adventure, even if we can’t see exactly how that is possible at the
moment.
Lao Tsu says in Tao Te Ching; do not try to force things. Just do what
needs to be done. All that needs to be done is to address the lessons
that come your way in your life situations. Ask God and the Universe.
“What is the lesson for me in this? How can I grow through it?” Do
not concern yourself with how can you get where you want to go or how
can I find that comfortable place. This is forcing things. “Ask what
do you want me to do? How can I grow? How did I attract this so I
can grow?” Then do what needs to be done. Focus on the meditation
and your lessons along the way. The rest will magically take care of
itself. You will find yourself playing your role to the fullest, even
miraculously changing parts and moving into new adventures just when
the time is right. When the work is done and the part has been played
wonderfully, remember it was God that showed you the way and worked
through you, and that you did nothing of your own.
Lao Tsu starts off speaking on ruling in the way of Tao. The Tao is
the inner sound, light and vibration within us. In order to rule life
in the way of the Tao we must focus on the Tao. This is the
importance of the meditation process. It gives us the ability to be
able to do everything we have talked about thus far.
Sincerely,
Craig Kimbrough
Recently I Get A Common Message
Recently the movies I have seen seem to have a common theme. If you want to find true happiness you have to let go of fame, power, the need for recognition, and wealth. I saw three movies that brought this home quite a bit. They were The Social Network, Dispicable Me, and The Nany Diaries. In The Social Network the main character achieves great wealth and notoriaty. He sought the power and notariaty but never seemed to be truly happy. The times I did notice what may have been happiness, it seemed to be in the creative process, but had nothing to do with the fame and wealth he achieved and we all seem to crave.
Inthe movie Dispicable Me, the main character rose above his need for fame and notoriaty to find his true place in life and happiness. This animation was truly a joy to watch with a great message.
The Nany Diaries, this one caught me by surprise, because I had been noticing how difficult fame and great wealth can make it to see what’s truly important. I was noticing it from afar in the lives of several celebrities and felt like an observer of an experiment of sorts. Interestingly the same evening I walk in while my wife is watching The Nany Diaires and this is exactly what takes place. A student studies the life of the very rich by becoming a nany for a very wealthy family. In the movie she discovers that money is not as important as one may think on the road of happiness and she also discovered that the attachment to all that comes with it can complicate the journey. Now don’t get me wrong I still totally agree with my teacher when he said “Even If You Need A Million Dollars Go Out and Get It, Just Remember To Repeat Your Mantra” In other words there is nothing wrong with money fame the material of this world but the key is to not be attached to it. Repeat your mantra meditate and enjoy your life.
In the Universe
I was watching Being Erica this week and to my surprise the message seemed to be sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. I had something big that I was trying to figure out the best way of accomplishing and for some reason the idea of doing nothing seemed to be the answer. It was quite funny because just prior I found myself feeling like I had to do so much and had no idea how to do it. The next day I get a series of messages. The first was from a Lao Tsu writing where he says “In the universe the difficult things are done as if they are easy.” That line really hit me. When he said “in the universe” it was as though he was saying when you are connected, when you are in your place. In other words get in the universe, get with God and be in your place. It reminded me of how when things were at there most difficult point my teacher Mr. Ambrister would tell me to meditate deeper and more often. Then he would say “and Craig It”s gonna be easy!” We would both bust out laughing. After all how could it be easy when I was having such a tough time and the situation looked impossible?
This same morning after reading Lao Tsu, I also opened up my book Wise Words to a page titiled The Parable of The Trees. The message was when you are in your place just like a tree in it’s place, the birds will flock accordingly. All that you need will come. You don’t have to do anything. The same basic message. My next message, Pay attention to coincedences.
